He Always Shall be Our Friend

Leonard Nimoy passed away today at the age of 83.  He will forever be known as Spock, but this librarian wanted to pause and remember his many contributions to libraries around the world.

Nimoy was:

a reader

an author of memoirs

(Talk about using writing to figure out who you are!)

a poet

an audio book performer

and a heckuva interesting interview

Most importantly, though, he was just a cool, awesome, beautiful human.  This planet, and this librarian, will miss him.

Celebrities Reading--Christmas Edition!

By now, you might know what a huge David Tennant fan I am.  If you didn't, just know that I would probably twist and finagle anything to be able to legitimately link Libraries + David Tennant (because those are two of my favorite things).

At this time of year, it's always good to think about your favorite things, and people also start to talk about Christmas wishes, so here's one of my wishes kind of coming true: David Tennant reading a Christmas story to me...I mean to US...I mean to the WHOLE WORLD!!!

Enjoy!

Celebrities Reading

I feel like I should start a weekly post with celebrities reading.  I like celebrities.  I LOVE reading.  Why not mix the two?  I don't know; we'll see if it catches on.

For now, I'd like to leave you with this BuzzFeed list, 25 Proper Ways to Read a Book, which features some of my favorite famous people.  IF you don't want to look through the list and read the wonderfully witty captions, I'll give you my Top Two.  My favorite one is actually NOT the David Tennant gif (a shocker to anyone who knows me).  It's actually this one:

This one of BFF's Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan made me laugh out loud at the Circ Desk:

Which means...Tennant is actually THIRD!  Now that IS a fascinating fact for your Thursday.  Again, only if you know me, though.
